IFMAR WC Nitro Touring Cars 1:10 in Houston 2010 (Part 3)

Calmness at Gulf Coast Raceway is over as the fight for World Champion title has just begun here in Porter (north of Houston). After all drivers checked in and received their accreditation, it was time for free practice. Unfortunately lots of moisture came down at the track over night. It dried very badly because of high humidity. Some club members dried the track by compressor fan to make the route passable and sprinkled it with sugar water for better grip.

IFMAR WC Nitro Touring Cars 1:10 in Houston 2010 (Part 2)

Yesterday we had the last opportunity for relaxing and other things. Patrick and I used this spare time for taking a sun bath at the open air pool and went shopping after that. The excitements you get offered in the SplashTown Park over here are really awesome. And one of the first things that we noticed in America is that the urban highways usually have at least four lanes per direction.

Free practice at the Gulf Coast Raceway nearby Houston is going to start today. Stay tuned for some fresh updates from the World Cup and our team KYOSHO!

IFMAR WC Nitro Touring Cars 1:10 in Houston 2010 (Part 1)

Yesterday at 4:00 a.m. Patrick Gassauer and I started our journey to the USA via Hamburg Airport. It took us about 16 hours of overall travel time to arrive in Houston, Texas at 1:30 p.m. local time. After checking into the hotel we went to the racetrack, where we were greeted by KYOSHO developer Takaaki Shimo. He also wanted to take the opportunity having a closer look at the track. Then we made a really necessary shopping tour to the local Wal-Mart. The current temperatures here are indeed similar to those we have at home in Germany, but the high humidity here is really exhausting, so we had to buy lots of water. Today we have the last chance to get rid of our jetlag before practice starts on Thursday morning. Stay tuned for following reports at KYOSHOblog!

Interview: Q’on (NanoTrax)

Q'on (Kwan)

In late August 2009, we introduced NanoTrax in Pattaya (Thailand) with a little YouTube video. Now we have taken some time to have a very interesting conversation with the shop owner Q’on. Our goal was to get a few details about his business model. There’s obviously a lot of work behind this project, which has attracted not only our curiosity, but also those of our readers.

KYOSHOblog: Hi Q’on, please tell our readers something about yourself.

Q’on: Born February 14th, 1975 which makes me 34 going on 35. I like to play basketball, excercise at the gym when I have time and of course, RC in the form of dNaNo.

KYOSHOblog: Are you married?

Q’on: Yes, my wife’s name is NanoTrax.

KYOSHOblog: How did you have first RC experience?

Q’on: I saved money from my first job as a dishwasher to buy my first RC model kit, a KYOSHO Ultima.

KYOSHOblog:KYOSHOblog: Hey Q’on, you don’t look like typical Thailand citizen. Where do you originally come from?
